Mike King, PE grew up in the steel building industry. Son to the owner of a PEMB manufacter that began fabricating in the mid '70s, the family tradition of building design, fabrication and erection was ingrained into the DNA of each member. By age 10, he was spending his summers working in the fabrication shop, cutting clips on the ironworker, pushing brooms and repairing the roof. By the time he was in high school, he split his summer schedule between the fabrication shop and working with the erection crew. During college, he worked in the estimation department, putting together bids for construction projects. Mike received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2005. After working several years at Bell Helicopter working on fatigue analysis and flight tests, he reevaluated his career path and chose to pursue structural engineering. While working towards his master's in structural engineering at UTA, Mike obtained his Professional Engineering license. He has been intricately involved in hundreds of projects since 2008 and is the founding member of our firm. On a more personal level, he and his wife have been married for ten years and have four wonderful children together. They are part of a local gospel-centered church that exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ. His hobbies include: playing "you can never-ever catch me" with the kids, riding motocross and building projects at home (including a treehouse...you can find a picture of this marvel on the "Projects" page).
